The County originally purchased the GIS (Graphic Information System) software license with the ESRI, Inc. in 2009 on behalf of the six island towns. This license has been renewed several times now and utilized by the towns and Martha's Vineyard Commission to collect and build up a robus database of information.. Included in the layers of the maps are aerial photos, assessors maps and other DATA.
